Vision
We envision a world where there are no disparities in airway disease burden across settings, and the ability to give tailored care to patients available, irrespective of their setting.
Mission
To conducting high impact research relevant to Uganda and the Low- and Middle-Income Countries’ setting with the aim of generating knowledge to facilitate appropriate management, prevention and alleviating the burden of airway lung diseases and allergy in Africa.
Approach
High Impact research and innovation
We aim at conducting high quality research with the aim of having not only local, but global impact, to contribute to the knowledge base of science relevant to LMIC settings
Community involvement
We aim at working closely with the most affected communities with these disease conditions to conduct relevant research the benefits the people that are most affected
Policy level research
We believe that our research should culminate in shaping policies at the national level for starters and thus aim to align our research to the pertinent policy objectives, and work closely with policy makers to ensure adequate reach of our findings
Research Continuity
We aim to build long term cohorts to facilitate conduct of research over long periods of time to enable longitudinal research across long periods of time and facilitate continuity in research in different aspects in the same individuals
Multidisciplinary and diversity approach
We believe that a multi disciplinary approach is necessary to tackle the burden of airways and allergic lung disease in Uganda, and as such, the composition of our team reflects our value for diversity and a multi disciplinary approach.
