Samson Omongot BSC, MPH, is a Public Health Expert, research fellow at Makerere University Lung Institute. He has a specific interest in respiratory and lung health research, more so in pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), Asthma and Air pollution studies.
He is a self-driven person with a keen interest in becoming an independent researcher to fulfil his ambitions of generating impactful research that will build on the knowledge base for controlling and preventing infectious diseases. At the Lung Institute, he has championed research that looks at the social determinants of health as key drivers for infectious diseases.
Additionally he is an Air Health Trainer with the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA).
He is a country representative of Global Youth for Clean Air and Climate Health Action working group (Global action plan, UK). A member of Global Youth Strategy (GYS) on Air Pollution and Climate Health (Cameroon). A member of the African working group on Tropospheric Ozone Assessment Report Phase II (TOAR-II); this is an African group on atmospheric science ( ANGA) focusing on analysis of Ozone and its precursors in Africa.
