Batte is a Research Scientist and a global award-winning social innovator with 15 years of experience working in the community innovation space. He led the development of the Wulira App – a winning innovation in the National ICT Initiatives Support Program by the government of Uganda.
He is a 2-time Fogarty global health fellow where he conducted research on patient-centred education on cardiovascular diseases and their impact on quality of life among PLWH.
Currently He is a co-investigator / program manager for 2 NIH research training grants at Makerere University; U2RTW012116 – Makerere University Data Science Research Training to Strengthen Evidence-Based Health Innovation, Intervention and Policy (MakDARTA) and D43TW011401 – Training in non-communicable diseases biomedical, clinical, epidemiological and Implementation Science research to strengthen evidence-based interventions, policy and control in Uganda.
