Dr. William Worodria

Dr. William Worodria (MBChB (MAK), MMed (Internal Medicine) (Mak), MSc Epi (London), Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, PhD(Antwerp), Senior Consultant (Internal Medicine) and Pulmonologist at Mulago National Referral Hospital.

He is the Head of the Division of Pulmonology at Mulago Hospital, an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medicine, Makerere College of Health Sciences. Assistant Adjunct Professor, Case Western Reserve University, USA and Visiting Professor, Muni University, Arua, Uganda.

He is a Founding member and General Secretary of Uganda Thoracic Society, Founding Director of the Lung Consortium International (LCI) and Member of the Makerere Lung Institute Technical Board; Founding Director of World Alliance for Lung and Intensive Care in Uganda (WALIMU). An Executive committee member of the Pan African Thoracic Society (PATS) and a Member of the Case Management Pillar of the National COVID 19 Task Force and the Scientific Advisory Committee for COVID 19..

He is an EDCTP Senior Fellow at the Infectious Disease Institute and is involved in pulmonary research, specific ally interested in pulmonary infectious diseases (tuberculosis, pneumonia and tuberculosis-HIV coinfection) and chronic respiratory diseases. He has supervised 26 Masters students and 4 PhD students.
