
MLI Showcases Groundbreaking Research at Biosciences Park Event
At the groundbreaking ceremony of the Pathogen Economy Biosciences Park, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, the Prime Minister of Uganda, officiated as the Guest of Honor, emphasizing the government’s commitment to advancing local health innovations.

During the event, Dr. Monica Musenero, Minister for Science, Technology, and Innovation, visited the MLI exhibition stall, where Prof. Bruce Kirenga, Director of MLI, showcased the latest research findings. Among the highlights was the successful completion of clinical trials for two Ugandan-made therapeutics including Vidicine and TAZCOV marking a major milestone in locally developed healthcare solutions.

This engagement underscores Uganda’s progress in biosciences, fostering self-reliance in vaccine, diagnostic, and therapeutic development. MLI remains dedicated to pioneering research that strengthens Uganda’s health sector and contributes to global scientific advancements.
