
MLI & CLEAN-Air (Africa)’s transition to clean household energy
Makerere University Lung Institute, in partnership with CLEAN-Air (Africa), hosted a high-level engagement at Skyz Hotel, Naguru, focusing on the transition to clean household energy in sub-Saharan Africa. The discussions underscored the public health and climate benefits of scaling up clean cooking solutions in Uganda.
Key guests included Prof. Daniel Pope, who shared insights from CLEAN-Air (Africa) studies, Dr. Rebecca Nantanda, who highlighted the impact of household air pollution on health, and Eng. Herbert Abigaba, who presented Uganda’s Energy Transition Plan. The event facilitated productive discussions on policy, research, and practical interventions to accelerate clean cooking adoption.
