Symposium Overview
The ongoing Mpox disease outbreak, originating in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, has spread to neighboring countries, prompting global health alerts. Both the World Health Organization (WHO) and Africa CDC have declared Mpox a Public Health Emergency of International and Continental Security.
This symposium aims to bring together scientists, researchers, policymakers, and health responders from across East and Central Africa to map out the most effective research and response strategies to address the Mpox outbreak.
