Mudarshiru has BSc in biological sciences from Kyambogo University, an MPH from the School of Public Health, Makerere University, Uganda and a post graduate diploma in Project Planning and Management from the Uganda Management Institute. He is currently a Research Fellow at the Makerere University Lung Institute. He is an experienced public research scientist with a demonstrated history of working in the public health and basic science research institutions, as well as working in the COVID-19 response in Uganda. His main interests include research in lung health especially tuberculosis and its interaction with HIV, and recently the COVID-19 pathophysiology. Mr Bbuye coordinates the TBFibrosis project that aims at investigating the Serologic and Pulmonary Mediators of post-Tuberculosis Lung Fibrosis in a Ugandan cohort. He has previously coordinated the ECBS study that aimed at studying the relationship of specific bacterial loads with exacerbations of Chronic Bronchial Sepsis among COPD patients at the Lung Institute. He is a member of the TB and COVID-19 research working groups at the institute.
